We really enjoyed the Once Upon a Time format, where luminaries from bars around the world take over the helm at Tippling Club for a night. Our last experience at the Savoy was a magical one, indeed.
We don’t have to go very far for good drinks, however. Singapore is a cocktail paradise.
Our friends at Tippling Club seem to agree. Our next Once Upon a Time does not go very far from our sunny island.
Once Upon a Time has always been a cocktail-food pairing. Consider it to be fine dining combined with fine drinking- quality over massive quantity. For this edition, bartenders from some of Singapore’s best bars will be serving up their signature drinks.
Tippling Club’s own Head Bartender Joe Schofield will open the event with Sonic Negronis, aged with the power of sound.
The evening forges ahead as Aki Eguchi of Gibson, one of our favourite bars, serves his modernist Crystal Ramos Gin Fizz. Juan Yijun of Operation Dagger pays tribute to Chef-Owner Ryan Clift’s iconic Vegetable Garden. Shaking up a spiced apple cider concoction, called the Stone Fence, is 28 HongKong Street’s Joma Rivera.
Employees Only Singapore’s Bai Jiawei will then serve up the New York bar’s signature EO Gimlet, a bracingly strong version of the lime-and-gin cocktail. Finally, Manhattan’s Philip Bischoff, will close the event by paying fiery homage to the notorious Irish-American “Mad Dog” mobsters .
With such a strong lineup, we think that the event is definitely a can’t miss. You don’t only get good food and drinks- you also get a liquid introduction to some of Singapore’s best bars!
